As the party splits, Konguq, Vodren, and Bron find Garam to pay off Vorlo's debt. They go by the docks and find a repurposed warehouse called the Salvage. Upon entering, it appears no one is there. They ring the bell, and a man appears. The party tells him they're there to pay off Vorlo's debt. Surprised by the turn of events, they usher them in, and Garam appears. First, Konguq offers the Copper Bracelet from Ace, but he does not accept stolen goods to pay off debt. Then they offer the Belt Buckle. He is more intrigued by that, and with a little push from Vodren, he offers to take the belt buckle and 20 steel to clear off the debt—Konguq signs for it.

Once the business is concluded, Konguq goes to sell the Copper Bracelet. Unfortunately, the scale says it is supposed to be much lighter than it should be. After running some tests, they found that the bracelet wasn't copper but tin painted to look like copper. She sells it anyway, not having much use for it.

Konguq also attempts to sell a magic prank book the party acquired. He wasn't interested, and she decided to keep it. The party does buy, however, an adjustable harness for Callum and Agratok.

As their business concludes, Garam offers for Konguq to visit him for dinner one night to swap merchant stories.

Ace arrives at the Blue Cloak residence and is greeted by Tellum and Ryai. Ace urges that he speak with Alaban about happenings around the town and a personal matter. Ace then implies that Ryai should not be there to hear. Tellum sends Ryai away, but Ryai hangs back to eavesdrop. Ace mentions that a friend of theirs had shown up dead on the beach that morning and that he needed to talk with Alaban about the matter. Tellum, a little frustrated, obliges and, as he leaves, collects Ryai from his hiding spot. He asks Ryai what he knows about the matter but is just as shocked to find out.

Ace then meets Alaban in his office. The man is looking worse for wear when Ace enters. Ace apologizes for constantly bringing bad news to him but begins to explain the grisly affair of Rosewood's death. Ace explains they have leads on the matter, attributing it to the Jackdaws. Alaban explains that if it is them, it severely complicates things since for them to use their harbor, he charges them 10x the normal docking fee to help cover charges through the winter.

Ace says it's not confirmed but plans to meet with Galera at noon for a speak-with-the-dead ritual to find out.

Alaban explains that she will not be doing that because necromancy isn't allowed in Crossing. Ace, however, manages to persuade him to make an exception due to the circumstances, only if his son Cyrus goes as a witness. Ace obliges.

As for Ace's personal matter, Ace admits that he hasn't been truly honest about his entire identity. But needed to wait until he knew his footing in Crossing. When Ace first arrived in Crossing, they mentioned that Ace's family pronounced him dead. Ace explains that is only part of the story. His father very much wishes that Ace is dead and has sent people out to kill him. He requests anonymity during the event and to be referred to as Ace, not Achaius. Alaban eats this up, unfortunately, though, requiring every invitation to be rewritten with the new name.

Tellum wasn't fond of that.

Tellum interrupts Ryai's training and makes him rewrite all the invitations with Ace's pseudonym.

Ryai wasn't fond of that.

Ryai asks Tellum why, and he does explain what Ace explained to Alaban. Ryai, not very fond of Ace at the moment, wants to start looking into Ace for himself, figuring something is up.

On his way to the ritual, Ace stops by a shop to purchase a mask for the festival. He is taken with a phoenix mask and purchases it.

When he arrives at the beach, Cyrus is waiting for him. When Galera sees Cyrus is there, she is less than pleased with his presence. Cyrus assures her it's just to ensure things go as planned.

They pull Rosewood's soul from the ether and begin to ask her questions.

The group confirmed that she was killed by the Captain of the Jackdaw and his crew. They found out she was counting them and planned on poisoning them the night of the 15th. And told them how we planned to attack them that night as well. When asked what we could do for her, all she requested was that the party kill the captain and the 13 men who killed her.

The party reflects on the moment. Ace tells them Constable Bage would be looking for any family she might have had. Galrea says she didn't have any. Ace steps outside with Cyrus, and the two discuss their next steps with Alaban. They ultimately decide to tell Alaban what occurred. However, Cyrus mentions having beef with the Jackdaw Crew and offers to join us on our raid of the ship.

The rest of the party talks with Galera about their future plans. Galera says the Jackdaw has earned her scorn and offers her assistance on the day of the raid.

The party discusses moving. The crew expects them on the 15th, so they decide to move it to the 16th to attack. They also realize that they can no longer stay at The Stuffed Hen. Cyrus offers to talk their way into staying at the Blue Cloak Manor for now—the day before the Knights of Solamnia Festival. Bron grabs the party’s bags and heads to Manor, getting them situated in their new room.

Tellum is really not fond of that.

Ryai finally finishes writing all the new invitations when a name he recognizes comes across one of them, Vanthanoris Althonos, an ally to the person he's been trying to escape from back home.

Tellum bursts into the library where Ryai is working, looking flustered and bewildered to hell and back. He informs Ryai that they will now stay in the manor and have to turn away some angry nobles. Ryai then requests that he stay away from Vanthanoris during the festival. Tellum agrees under an IOU from Ryai. He then tells Ryai to take his bags to the suite they'll be staying at.

Vodren and Bron decide to forgo the lap of luxury that night to stay with Vorlo for one more night. Ace and Konguq enjoy their time at the manor while Ryai gets his first experience working the floor. After the service had concluded, Ryai joined the staff that night in drinking, and no one bothered to take the bottle from him. When he returns to the suite where the party is staying, Ace and Konguq try to explain what has been going on, but in his drunken state, he is still very much unhappy with Ace and lashes out at him. He was mostly upset that Rosewood's death was kept hidden from him. Ace explains that there was nothing Ryai could have done without knowing. Ryai left before the two could further explain, headed to bed.

The next morning, Ace wakes up to a letter addressed to him. He is requested to be met in the courtyard yard by an unknown person. Ace obliges, taking Callum with him.

When he arrives at the dreary courtyard, he is met by Tellum. Tellum reveals that he has done some digging on Ace and found not only the letter disowning him from the Ravenwing family but also his wanted poster and bounty of 1000 steel pieces.

Ace asks him what he wants, and he tells Ace he wants the true history of the Blue Cloak Family. Something that is locked away in the family vault. He figures there is something hidden there that they don't want anyone to know about. Claiming to be great and yet just falling short of that Greatness. In addition, he wants the 1000 steel from his bounty. He also gives him a time limit of 3 days, making it due by the 13th. Ace happily obliges, taking the copies of both documents and a sense of confidence in the mission.

When Ace returns, Ryai wakes up, hungover and groggy. Konguq requests ginger tea for the elf. Ryai proceeds to apologize for his outburst at Ace last night. He explains that his drunkenness was not an excuse for his behavior towards him and explains he at least understands why Ace hid it. The two then fill him in.

The party then regroups at the camp Vorlo is at with Galera. She does the ritual again, which appears successful, but no one can know for certain now.

The party then splits again. Ace, Konguq, and Bron go to find Vajra to try to contact Brutus for the 16th. Meanwhile, Ryai, Vodren, and Vorlo went to the library.

Starting with the Library group, Ryai digs into Ace to find any additional information about him. Vodren wants to look for more rites he could perform, and Vorlo wants to look for more potions. Ryai saw Ace's name in the list of nobles and his younger brother Elliot. He also noticed that someone had recently gone through the records. Vodren found things, but they were all in a dead language Ryai couldn't read. Vorlo found porn. Afterward, they went to a bar to kick one back before going to the ship.

Meanwhile, when Ace, Konguq, and Bron go to find Vajra, they find she lives in the same apartment complex Rosewood did. Unfortunately, Jackdaws are there ransacking her place. Ace decides to sneak away to see if he can find what they're looking for while Bron and Konguq go to knock on Vajra's door.

Ace finds that they've torn the place up, looking for something. He finds that the one removed a floor panel and found a box. He then goes to leave, climbing up the side of the building. The Jackdaws, however, notice him and get into a losing conversation with Ace. They threaten Konguq to get him to tell them where they're staying, but Ace turns their attention on him long enough for Vajra to pull Konguq into her home without the Jackdaws noticing. Ace then notices that in the box is a signet ring like his for the Hartshield family in Palanthas.

While in Vajra's home, Konguq asks if they can talk with Brutus. Vajra explains that she doesn't find Brutus; Brutus finds her. Konguq then explains the scenario to Vajra about what's happening on the 16th. A little surprised at this honesty, Vajra admits that she's hiding a Draconian in her home. She explains that she doesn't really want to, but being from Neraka forces some expectations on her regarding the Dragon armies. After explaining why they were running from the Jackdaws and what happened to Rosewood, she personally sets out to find Brutus.

The party regroups at the ship to continue the training. Cyrus, however, is much more tolerable and less of a show-off today. Training goes well despite the glaring eyes of the Jackdaw Crew. Ace and Konguq taunt them.

While discussing what they planned to do that day, Ace suddenly remembers Rosewood from his childhood. Her real name was Magdalene Hartshield. They once played tag as kids at a party. This strikes a chord with Ryai.

They plan to split again.

Ace, Konguq, and Morris to meet with Brutus at the Stuffed Hen

Vodren and Vorlo back to camp

Ryai and Bron to inform Rumblegut about the change of plans
