Konguq, Ace, and Morris arrive at the Stuffed Hen and wait for Brutus to arrive. Ace notices that Morris is focusing only on Konguq as they make their small talk.
Brutus eventually arrives and asks what's going on, and they explain their plan for the 16th. He agrees to payment. Ace begins to make a deal with him in Thieves Cant. Offering 50 steel pieces. Brutus counter offers 25 steel pieces and the names of everyone at the party. And make it worth his while if he gets where they're staying. Ace obliges, sealing the deal with him. The group then makes their way back to the manor.
Vodren and Vorlo get to camp and discuss the nature of Vorlo's curse. Vodren offers to check in the morning to see if anything is coming from him.
Ryai and Bron visit Rumblegut to inform him about the date change. On the way there, Ryai struggles to make small talk with Bron but learns that he used to be an entertainer. They arrive at Rumblegut's, inform him of the date change, and inquire if there are any signs of a cured Wereboar. Rumblegut suggests feeding Vorlo wolfsbane and seeing if he dies. Ryai is against that.
Afterward, Ryai requests to visit Galera's to ask about Rosewood. Looking for answers about her past and why she might have left her home for Crossing, he unfortunately found none. Instead, he was asked why he would leave such luxury. He replies that some things are worth more than that and that he was going to lose everything anyway. The two leave and make their way to the manor.
When Ace and Konguq arrive, Cyrus is there waiting for them with food, drink, and a rack of 5 dresses for Konguq to try. They talk while Konguq tries them on, and Ryai and Bron return. Bron goes to bed, but Ryai does at least stay in the common area. Cyrus and Ryai get into an uncomfortable conversation about why Ryai dislikes Cyrus. Ryai explains that he isn't fond of self-inflated egos. Cyrus leaves after the confrontation, and Ace decides to follow with the wine.
Ryai helps Konguq further with her wardrobe choices, and she fills Ryai in on what went down with Brutus. Ryai also feels responsible for Rosewood's death since he asked her to keep track of the Jackdaws.
Ace and Cyrus talk about why Ryai is like that. Cyrus points out that Ryai doesn't understand their responsibility as nobels. With elves being patriarchal, the two began to theorize that he might have an older brother, which might be why he doesn't worry about the responsibility. Cyrus also mentions a girl he's sweet about coming tomorrow named Dacey. Ace mentions his betrothed wasn't into the idea of marriage.
Cyrus retires for the night, and Ace goes exploring. He scouts out the vault to see how easy it's going to be to pick without the key, but he learns it's a gnomish lock, and it's rigged to do something if it doesn't go right.
Ace returns to the room, finding Ryai trying to style Konguq's hair. Ace asks if Ryai remembers the guest list from his time rewriting everything, and Ryai remembers the whole list and where the people would be staying.
Ryai heads to bed shortly after, and Ace heads out alone to deliver the information to Brutus. However, he found himself cornered by 5 Jackdaw crew mates. Ace barely makes it away with his life, poisoned by one of their blades. Climbing into his bedroom window, he struggles the whole night with the poison, unable to recover.
Vodren, the next morning, casts detect good and evil on Vorlo and can't pick up anything. He heads to the manor.
Ryai is woken up first at the manor to attend to his duties that day. After Ryai leaves, the rest wake up, and Ace shuffles into the common room and shows off his wound to Konguq and Bron. The poison is starting to make him look like one of the Jackdaws. Vodren arrives in the nick of time and heals the poison and some of Ace’s wounds.
Feeling a little better, Ace starts to prepare for the breakfast meeting with Alaban and the rest of the party (sans Ryai). While there, Vodren meets the Kingfisher Knights, an order of Knights that follow Habakkuk. Also, among the nobles, Ace recognizes Marion Hartshield, a relative of Rosewood. Marion recognizes Ace despite his disguise and gives him a healing potion to help his condition.
After breakfast, Bron delivers the information to Brutus and attempts to locate some plate armor.
Ace mingles with Alaban, scoping out where the vault key is on his person. He figures it's in his false-bottom shoes and makes the both of them trip and fall to the ground. He removes the key from the shoe with a quick sleight of hand.
Vodren is requested to give a sermon to the Kingfisher Knights and manages to get them to consider the idea that clerics of other gods might not always be evil.
Konguq goes on a double date with Morris, Cyrus, and Dacey. It goes well for the four of them, and learn that Dacey is a lovely, wonderful ditz. Konguq and Morris bond over ships in bottles as they discuss the ins and outs of ships. Konguq also notices Lindvai doing a lot of buying.
While doing his job, Ryai notices an unseen servant behind him assisting him- a gift from Konguq—the people he's serving also start to notice. However, with their demeanor improved and encouragement from other staff, he started using cantrips to spice up his job.
Vorlo went down to the farmer's village and had a very productive day.
At the jousting tournament, the party notices Vajra also watches the event.
As the night festivities roll around, the party is split again for the night. Konguq and Morris spend some time on the dance floor. Morris struggles, but Konguq starts to teach him dances from her home. The two then ditch the dance floor altogether and go outside.
Bron fails to locate plate mail but decides to spar with some of the knights.
Ace goes to scope out the vault situation. Three servants are standing guard at the vault. Remembering that Ryai has the Ethereal Oils, Ace goes to find Ryai.
Ryai was assigned to the Library to take care of the patrons there. Not long into the conversation, they begin to ask for Ryai's opinion, and he ends up completely enthralling them. When Ryai mentions learning from the archives back home, Vanthanoris Althonos asks if it was the Aedlock archives. Ryai denies it, and the two have a very tense conversation. Vanthanoris then moves to the library door, watching Ryai like a hawk.
Entering not long after, Ace notices the elf at the door, watching Ryai closely. Ryai makes the "please get me out of here" eyes at Ace, who steps in and makes up a lie that Tellum was looking for Ryai and they needed to leave. Ace makes a point of standing between the two of them as they exit, Vanthanoris following behind them. When Ace asks for the Oils, Ryai holds them until Ace can ensure he's completely out of the situation. Aided by a surprise commotion outside, the two lose him in the hallways.
The commotion being a training accident gone wrong. Vodren is alerted that something bad happened outside. He goes out to see Bron frozen in shock while a young knight is choking on his collapsed windpipe. Vodren manages to save the knight while people are calling for Bron's arrest. Vodren makes a plea with Constable Bage to excuse Bron for the training gone wrong. Bage asks for Bron's side, and he confirms it was just an accident. Bage agrees and calls off the sparring for the night. Bron decides to return to the room, still shell-shocked from the event.
Once away from their pursuer, Ryai asks Ace what he needs the Oils for. Ace remains vague, but Ryai gives him one vial as agreed. Ryai decides to head back to the servant's quarters to try and calm down.
Ace goes back to the room to apply the oil. Bron enters just as Ace finishes applying the oil, watching him pop out of existence. Bron who's had enough of today, goes to bed wondering if he would be better in jail that night.
As Bron disappeared from Ace's view, the world around him turned gray. All sounds became muffled and tinny as the people turned to just color and skeletons.
Ace walked into the vault, no key necessary.
